I have an 88 Carver and the on board battery charger seems to overcharge the batteries and boils off the water in a month or less. I am thinking about replacing the on board charger with 3 stage Dual Pro battery charger (bassboat type battery charger) and am wondering if this is ok. The Dual Pros shut off after the batteries are fully charged but I do not know how well they'll work when utilizing the electronics (radio, lights, etc.). Any advice or input?
Thanks,

I have the Pro-Mariner 100 that does 2 Batteries but the one you are considering is fine also. I leave mine plugged in 24 hours a day and it works great. Have been using it on my 2 AGM trolling motor batteries for 2 years and batteries work like the day I bought them. Can't beat the 3 stage charges. Will not boil the water, etc. Good luck.
