Hello all im looking for some advice i run a 27 foot express which i fish offshore from the beach to about 50-60 miles on good days average about 6-8 trips on the further side of the numbers im looking for a suitable raft as well as a epirb was thinking about a acr rapid fix to link w/gps is this a good idea also usually travel with 6 people at most very rarely more maybe 1 or 2 trips i like the idea of a canister for neatness but cant mount it on hard top due to a marlin tower and a radar dome is the fore deck a good idea? not sure or am i better off with a valise just not sure where to store it should i get a cat 1 or 2 epirb again where to mount the auto where it wount get hung up plus in my opiinion most of the time it will be activated manually i wouldnt wait for my boat to go down 13 feet for it to go auto also will need a ditch bag which i was thinking of putting the epirb as well as a hand held gps i have and grab my handheld vhf which i use in the tower ....

Check out this link to crewsaver coatsl liferaft:
If you are thinking about mounting in canister on foredeck this is a pretty good option for this. Its aslo available in a Valise. If you have a space that you could stow a valise that is more accesible than the foredeck this might be a good idea. However finding extra space can be a challenge and you don't want this to get lost down deep in a locker under a lot of stuff.
I prefer the ACR Globalfix EPIRB over the Rapidfix becxuse of the internal GPS, It does take a few minutes longer to get the GPS Positioning in the globalfix, my conceren is remembering to wire the raoidfix to the GPS and the neatness of a permanant hardwiring. I also prefer the Cat II manual mount keeping it nearby or in a ditchbag wouldd be what I recommend. We still have the promo on the free ditchbag and stobelights. So if you want to discuss a package of liferaft and EPIRB we can come up with what you need at a good price. Call or email or send another message.
