Hi All:

My dad is wanting to purchase a 2870 WA with twin 200 HPDIs. I believe the year is 1998 or 99. He's excited because the seller told him he could expect about 2mpg with full fuel & gear at about a 25-30mph cruise...and of course, the price is right.

Does anyone have any real world experience with this boat?? I'm finding it hard to believe that the fuel efficiency is that good..especially since my diesel powered 26 flybridge gets about 2.5 mpg at cruise.

Any responses would be appreciated.

I had a 1996 2870WA with 200 hp carbed Yamahas. I got about 1.5 nautical miles per gallon at cruise. So, 2.0 with HPDIs doesn't sound too far fetched.

I fish a 2870CC (2002) frequently with 200HPDI's. 2mpg Is about right, and good on oil too!

Go to www.pursuitboats.com/. Look under "products", then "achives" then the boats. The specs are all there.

For what it's worth my 2470 CC and orginal motors still run those published numbers! Ergo, they're accurate performance specs.(unlike the "fiction" most manufactures publish!)
