I don't know if it is true, but I heard of a 40+ lb. king coming off a peir up there.

If that is true that's the biggest one I've heard of this year. I think that we are going to work the alphabet bouys and some of the nearshore structure. Water temps look good and as long as the wind doesn't interfere it should be a good weekend but everyone knows how that is.

Word is the big king came off Seaview pier. We caught 5 keepers Fri. and a good dolphin and 2 keeper kings Sat.... dolphin on a downrigger at F buoy (can you believe that!!!) but bait was hard to find both days.
STILL no inlet bouys in New River inlet.....what is the hold up? Its been dredged for several weeks now and still no buoys

We caught kings from the time we got there and then left them bighting, don't know how many in all no monsters though. There weren't many times we got all the lines out. We did have a difficult time finding bait and decided to just pull dead. Couldn't find any dolphins and also had a hard time with the birds they wouldn't leave our bait alone. Guess we're not the only ones looking for bait. We had some out of state folks on the boat so it was a perfect day for them to keep their mind off of getting sick.
As far as the bouys your guess is as good as mine

Just got back from a week off with the boat. Went to WR-2 on Tuesday, but caught nothing. Nice water, though. We figured out that the bait was around 362, but no fish there. We would get bait at 362 and take it out to the area around 18 mi rocks. Lots of kings there, but all except one were small. Still kind of fun though. Fished by myself on Tuesday and had a double - one of the kings was decent, around #20. I must have looked like a man on fire trying to clear lines, downrigger, get the gaff, untangle, etc. Kind of Zen-like being out on the ocean by yourself.

Hydro....I called you on the VHF Sat.....figured you must not be out there. It was rough......only went because we were there and had friends wanting to go out. The seas were nothing close to the 2-4' and 5kt wind forcasted!!!

Sorry we missed you, Greg. Stayed on the porch and drank beer Saturday because it didn't look like it would be a lot of fun out there. Put quite a few more hours on the Suzuki during the past week. I'm just tickled to death with that new motor - really quiet and gets great mileage. Hope to buddy up with you on a trip sometime soon!
