I'm Shopping for a 25' Imemsa Panga. Any information is very appreciated. I'm aware of Panga USA, though I'm just trying to see what my options are before trying to make a deal with them.

There is a guy in Corpus Christi, Texas that brings them in from Mexico. His name is Richard Beck. You might give him a call.

Thanks guys. I originally watched the build thread on the one for sale. Said he spent a total of $9,000 or less to build it including the motor. He's asking a very inflated price. I wrote him asking if he would like to sell the hull and trailer and I received no response. I've been in contact with Richard Beck, and he's asking $7,700 for a new 25 hull. I've been told the boat can be bought from Imemsa for $4000, but they quoted me $4,700.

Not sure who else you have been in contact with but if you get a hold of Pescamexicana either on this forum or on the panga forum, he may be able to help you. He is from my area but now living in Mexico and redone many pangas and knows a LOT about them. He had previously offered to help me out on one that I was redoing.

The thing about dealing with Imemsa is that they may make a deal with you, you run down into dangerous territory with a trailer, trying to get out as fast as possible and they play some game with you, change the price, add some speed bumps etc. At Least with Richard, you take delivery in this country and all paperwork is done. Yes, its a big premium but there just aren't too many 25 Pangas around the states.

You may also talk to the guys at Bemm Boats http://www.bemmboats.com/22-Pass-Cavallo-Panga.html As I recall they are pretty reasonable but not sure if they have anything bigger than their 22 Pass Cavallo.

Their is no way i would go into Mexico and buy a boat, remember you have to come out and their is a chance that Jose sees it and likes it.

I talk to Tom quite often. I've been trying to buy a boat from him, but trying to get one shipped has been difficult for me.

If it was me, with a wife and kids at home that I'd like to live to see...I would probably get a hold of Beck and see what the best deal you could strike with him was and pay it. There are SO many possible problems that can arise bringing a boat in from Mexico. The border agents will jack with you even if they have no official reason to do so.

If you know the price from Imemsa, tack on what you consider to be a fair profit, remember to calculate in the shipping and title documents and make an offer. Worst thing that can happen is he says no but thank you for your offer. I can't imagine he's that busy with his Panga business...Most people just don't understand the versatility of them around here.

I've been speaking to Richard about it. Shipping will probably run about $1250, assuming $1 per mile. I was planning to offer $8,000 for the bare hull shipped to Sarasota. That is, if that's our best option.

I'm located in Sarasota County, FL. It would be great for me to split shipping.

Starting to think I'll have to buy one in Texas or change my boat preference. My wife and son prefers that we find a 23 or 26 scarab that I can repower. That or something similar.

there is a freight boat that runs from Port Everglades to Progreso, Yucatan. Everyone that buys a us boat here uses linea peninsular to ship their boats.

Regarding customs and duties, I have no Idea about the paperwork in order to import a boat to the US.
I've towed my Mexican registered boat into the U.S back and forth with no problem at all.

Ill give the Merida dealer a call to see whats the price for their 25 ft boat.

this is the link for the shipping line, http://www.lineaships.com/

Morse, how much of a hurry are you in? I'm in Miami and considering some options for a new boat, including an imported hull to finish here. Please drop me an email (not a PM) via my profile on here if you'd like to discuss the possibility of a group buy & ship.

Thanks,

Victor

Don't have his name handy but there is a dealer for a Nicaraguan built Panga in Va Beach, within Sandbridge. If you are in that area make appt to go out in 1 of 2-3 demos he has. If you need the number, etc. get back to me and I will call a middleman that knows his name, telephone, etc.

I am currently restoring a 23 panga. Hoping it will be in the water in a couple weeks. I really want a 25, but I'm going to put a little time on this boat before I decide to restart my search for a 25.

hey guys I am the new dealer for the Imemsa Panga In florida I have been in this business for a long time I have owned and been president of major boat companies. I know you all want the cheapest deal you can get. Richard Beck is the only importer of the boats in the USA. He has a good relationship with the Imemsa company owned by Yamaha. The boats that come into the US have to be serialized by an authorized US Coast Guard manufacture. Richard Beck at Panga USA brings the boats in and he serializes the boats so they can be titled in the US. You cannot try and buy a load of boats from Imemsa and title them in the US. It is not that simple. I get the boats from Panga USA and I install floors and consoles or whatever the buyer wants. I hope I have been a little help. thanks Roger

Morse, I have (2) 25' mexican panga hulls. 1 I know for sure is Imemsa, and the other is a little older. The older one already has a USCG hull ID# and is ready to go. Floor, cleats, front storage. They are both "real deal" mexican Pangas. I am in the process of building a new bigger panga and just took the motor and console off one of them this week. I will try to post some pictures, or send me an email and I will forward you some picture. We are looking to get around $3k per hull.
