Is it possible to re-pack (at a certified re-packing station) a valise packed life raft into a canister for future mounting ? I like the idea of a valise in my current situation but may want to mount in the future on that 60' Viking I will be buying (in my dreams)..

I checked for my Viking valise raft and it can be done. I needed to buy a cradle, canister, hydrostatic release and have it packed.
Because of the price I decided to hold off and asked the company doing the repack to keep an eye open for a used setup for my raft...they do come to the market from time to time.

If you are buying a 60 Vike, re-using your used life raft will be the least of your worries.

You know, no 65 footer has the ride of a 72 footer.
