I have inherited a bunch of old (junk?) cars and trucks. I've actually moved away so I'm not so sure what I can or even what to do with them. I have a couple of pictures. I need to know if any might be worth something or if I should just sell them for scrap, or maybe even leave them sit... I have no idea about titles either.

There's some rare parts there I'd Google old car parts in your state and send photos to them and get some interest going on them and offers. My buddy had an uncle in west Georgia that left him a yard 7 acres of cars like that and a guy come all the way from California and purchased all of them.

Light blue Plymouth Roadrunners - save. Along with the green four door in shot 384 - good source of parts.
Early 60's Chevy Impala coupes - save.
Black Pontiac Grand Prix and blue Pontiac - save.
Gold Buick 4 door - save.
Light green 4 door Rambler - save.
Reddish black? Olds Tornado - save.
Silver gold Mercury Comet coupe - save. I beleive there's another Comet you could use as a parts car.
Looks like there's a '59 Chevy wagon red top, white lower in shot 382 - definitely save.
In shot 388, it looks like there is an International - white top, red lower, wood grain stripe. Save (although it only appears in this picture, can't tell exactly how much of it is there.
Looks like there's a 68 or 69 Chevelle in shot 411. Save.

The rest? Ehhh, pieces of scrap. Any of the coupes you can salvage will be worthwhile. 4 doors (other than the station wagon), probably not worth it except for the couple I mentioned.

Some of those will buff right out!!!

Can't tell what it is... the white one? Looks like an import. Maybe a Simca? Or Puegot? The greenish import in shot 405 is interesting, a Volvo maybe?

I think some of those 50s 60s cars will have some value and the old trucks just for parts. Hard to find buyers. Maybe go to ebay and autotrader and look at some of the listings. From there you can email the sellers to see if they are interested in them. I'm sure there are some old car restoration websites that will have collectors wanting them. That might be a good resource. Good luck with them.

Theres a time that my uncle and i would drive to the other side of the country for good cars/parts. 4-door classics are really becoming more popular lately and people are looking for them. The problem is that these old cars arent worth what they used to be, im not saying they are worthless but a worn out car isnt worth what they were 10yrs ago. Now if only you had a '63 Chevy pickup.....then i would be heading across the country :) (Shortbed fleetside with a big back window)

Is North Dakota a "no road salt" state?

I would try to peddle the 67-72 GM pickups, they are a popular truck to restore.

The unfortunate part of things is, does any of them have a floor or a frame left in them? Grass/ fields tends to rot out the under carriage of vehicles faster than salt air....it's an unfortunate fact.

If you are going to keep them in the field they are in I suggest you fence the area off and put goats and sheep in there...they will keep the grass golf course short.

As mentioned above, there is several keepers in there.

I see a '58 Chevy wagon - looks like a "Delray" (4-dr.?) and not a "Nomad" (a "Nomad" could bring some decent bucks - I think they were 2-dr. wagon bodies(?) - but still worth saving. Don't see many '58's around.

Save ALL the '59 & '60 Chevys! And BOTH Comets - especially the 2-dr. coupe.

Sad the various Plymouth "hot rods" are sold. :(

There's a '63 or '64 Chevy - MAY be worth saving. Still sorta' popular but not like the '55-62's.

I wouldn't bother with the late '60s Chevys, unless that is a "Nova" (Nova/Omega/Ventura/Apollo body) I see in there (may be anything from a '68 to an early '74 model? ;?

As far as SELLING - what about some potential "low rider" clients/builders in California for the "big" Chevys, Fords and the black Grand Prix??? ;?

Cool stuff! ;cool;

Many cars that had collector value have fallen off the charts. Certain models of over price euro metal have fallen over 300%. Part them out if you can then call the salvage man.

Van I have been to many (Swap Meets)This is where you buy, sell swap ,car parts.
You have a lot of cash laying there in the field. It would takes some work, but can be cashed in.
Ex: A good tail light will bring 65.00 bucks/ Orig windshield is worth 100.00 bucks.
The last swap meet I went to I sold 600.00 worth of part in about 6 hours, This was
parts I had in a few boxes for older V Duds.Good luck .

No motor if I remember correctly, pretty sure the shifter was on the column. Had lots of fun "cruising" (or dreaming of it) in these when we were kids.

That is one of the first thoughts I had when I started looking at the pics. Then I realized that I did not see one weed, or piece of grass, growing up in a single car, except where the hoods were missing.
Good idea, fence it off close, and put the goats to it. Then, call in a few appraisers.

All the google hits of cars for sale seem kind of old, one really nice restored example was asking $8500, so it doesn't seem like the one in your field is worth it's weight in gold or anything, sorry. This website seems to have some activity, might try contacting the webmaster:

If nothing else you have quite a few straight body panels that could yield $$$$. The '62 Chev Impala looks quite promising. Looks like bucket seats so it could have been an SS model.

If you decide to scrap any or all of them out I would highly suggest you go over the engines, trans and rear carriers before selling them for scrap weight. You could easily have Dana's, Ford 9" (posi or non-posi), older hemi's, etc......

Didn;t remember they made a 61 comet. All these cars are probably a novices nightmare and money pit. Only the Mopars would probably have a chance of a return for your efforts. The comet looks like it might be one of the easyest to restore as can be told by the pics, Cept who the heck would have spare parts for old comets????? Nobody wanted them when they were new;?
