Does anybody with a 24'ish sized walk around boat ever use the water holding tank / sink? It baffles me that someone thought it was a good idea. I could see this being useful in a large boat taking long trips, but not in a 24’. Waste of space.

24' HS WA and the fresh water tank and sink have not been used in the 5yrs I have owned it. Thought it would be great to get it going - ha - the fresh water pump is crap... cut out the pump and forget-a-bout-it.

only need (if it worked) would be to spray a little fresh water over the reels once back at the dock, or maybe wash the hands after chunkin for 10 hours.

We use the hand held shower in our boat regularly. Mainly to wash the salt water off after a dip in the Gulf....

Also the grandkids think it's neat to wash up some after fishing......

We have never used the sink either...

We use our fresh water tank and sink all the time on our 23 footer. Our head has a fresh water flush. When we use the head we wash our hands.;?

We have a fresh water wash down and also a raw water wash down in the cockpit.

I use my sink as a place to store loose lures etc. Not particularly useful, though the deck freshwater hose is nice to wash the windshield, hands and anything else you don't want salt on.

Filled the water tank once. Never used the sinks, ( in cabin and bait station) Sink now performs as a wallet, cell phone, car keys, anything in my pockets I don't want, storage. Bait station is also best place to keep chum bags and line.

I guess it all depends on how you use your boat. My sink was always filled with lures, lobster bands, hooks..etc. It was a catch all and usually a mess so I did away with it and I don't miss it at all. I could easily restore the original setup if I wanted but I doubt I ever will. I converted the sink area into tackle storage.

Had one on a 16ft Arima WA. Used a couple tanks of water then never filled it again. It worked fine, just didn't have much use for it.

Currently rebuilding a 21ft Chris Craft WA and didn't bother putting the freshwater tank back in.

I'm also surprised at the number of small WA (<24ft) that have a stove. I can't imagine sitting in that tiny cabin cooking something.

had a 238 boat that had a freshwater head and we used the sink to soak lures after we used them.

If a boat has a complete kitchen facilities including a stove, refrigerator, and sink along with sleeping facilities and bathroom, it qualifies under the internal revenue code as a second home and you therefore can deduct the interest you pay on your boat loan. That's probably why so many boat makers include that tiny little sink.

Oh yeah, definition of bathroom includes a potti and fresh water shower whether on the transom or inside the cuddy.

Yup, its all about boat financing and making it easier for the builder to sell boats.

I have mixed Salt Away into my 13 gallon water tank so I can always spray down fittings, reels, engine, tackle, knives, etc. to inhibit corrosion.

We use ours all the time too. Mostly the transom mounted shower after a swim but the sink get's used quite a bit too.

Mine stinks. They placed the tank in the transom area and it just adds weight where it is not needed. So I emptied it and keep it empty. If the tank was amidships or forward, i would probably use it frequently.

I rarely use mine, I even have a hot water heater which I turned on once just to see if it worked

I know I'm bigger than 24ft but I always use the sink for washing the bait off my hands ect Even just inshore

I think some of the ideas for using that space for tackle storage... make more sense. I just bought a 23ft trophy with a 5.7 I/O. Are there any other improvements to your boat that you might suggest. Also... how do you like the boat in 6-10ft sea's???

I use the cockpit sprayer all the time in my GW. Washes blood and bait off hands, rinses reels, lures. Rinses out coffee cups and my thermos. My kids use it when I take them out swimming. The sink gets less use, but I still wind up using it once in a while.

6-10ft seas...really? In a 23 Trophy...not a good idea.
