Hey guys,

I tried this little motor out for the first time about a week ago, and went nowhere. The engine ran, but they boat did not move. After investigation I discovered that the prop turns free of the shaft. The prop nut is an acorn style and bottoms out before tightening up on the prop. According to the original parts diagram (see below), it does not look like the original setup. I got this motor at a yard sale, so it doesn't really surprise me.

How should I correct this problem? Would another nut on the shaft from the hardware store do?

Here is what I have:

Where is the sheer pin? Won't work without it, will just spin free like it is now...number 31.

Yeah, you're missing the sheer (drive) pin. Prop is sliding too far forward and that's why the nut seems to not fit against the prop. Order it online & you should be good to go.
