Adding more lanes north and south of exit 8, AKA the "merge", if you are heading South, take the outer roadway -Trucks- and stay in the far right lane as you approach the merge. There isn't any merge into this lane from the left. Except for one day when there was a huge pileup of trucks in a monster collision, this has always been the best route.
