Thanks to the forum members that help me source a shop manual for my suzy 175 4-stroke. Need to change the oil, do I use any synthetic 10w40?
Took about an hour, because it was my first time, next time probably 30 min. If you have a Suzuki, then take off the middle and lower panel and you won't spill a drop. Went with suzy oil and filter, even though the manual says filter every 200 hours and I am on 300, I figure whats $20.
total cost - Oil and filter - $70
Tools needed to do it - $30
so next time it will only be $70. Really was straight forward and I easy to do.

I use Mobil one in my F115s, although I use the stuff with the higher levels of zinc and Phos for wear protection as outboards have flat tippets and need the higher wear additives..

Shell Rotella 5 or 6 HD Semi synthetic or Full Synthetic Oil is also a good choice..
The Suzuki oil is a synethic blend, but I admit it is pretty pricey.
While I haven't heard any horror stories about oil, between Suzuki's lackluster warranty responsiveness, and the likelihood of powerhead problems on a boat vs on a car - my personal suggestion is to stick with the Suzuki oil if you're under warranty. Over the life of the warranty you MIGHT spend an extra couple hundred bucks on oil, and having a big stack of Suzuki oil receipts will be priceless if you find yourself with a piston sticking out the side down the road.
On my 2008 the oil was always coming out just about as clean as it was going in.
