Gulf Coast - Fishing Lake Pontchartrain Causeway (North) Louisiana

Well I have never really fished Lake Lake Pontchartrain but I have my boat at my house for the next few weeks and wouldnt mind trying for some Trout around the Causeway. Has anyone tried lately?

I used to drive the Causeway to work but since I changed jobs I stay on the Northshore. :thumbsup: Which I love but I dont get to check out the people fishing under the Causeway.

Suggestions on where to get bait around Madisonville area...I am guessing if they are biting they are going to want some live shirmp...I have some plastics I usually throw but any suggestions are welcome..

Also I wouldnt mind taking the ride to Slidell any reports from over there?

when i lived in mandeville i just fished under the crossovers with plastics or market bait
didnt catch a lot of trout but the ones i did catch were huge
there are reds and drum there too

alot of folks troll it with rattletraps, that just wasnt my gig

Water has been dirty with all the rain & Tstorms

When we fish the causeway... we always bring the grill and some hotdogs! lol
