Hi, I'm looking for a good Thanksgiving Day dinner location somewhere around Tampa. My Grandparents live in New Port Richey and in an attempt to keep it easy, we're hoping to find a nice buffet location somewhere within about an hour radius. Does anyone have any ideas of a hotel, hall, restaurant, etc that holds such a thing? Thanks, J

If the Colonnade restaurant on Bayshore drive is still doing their Thanksgiving dinners, that would be a treat for all....

thanks, called and they actually aren't doing it this year. Another mentioned Columbia restaurant - and they might have a traditional meal dinner option. Guess I'll start checking hotels between there and Tarpon Springs. How is the Rusty Pelican in Tampa - good food? Thanks and yell with ideas

NPR to Tampa is a long pain in the ass drive. If you arent looking for anything special, most Dennys, IHOPS etc are open and serving a turkey dinner that day.

Agree that NPR to Tampa is a long haul.
If heading to Tampa is still on your list:
I've only had Sunday brunch at Rusty Pelican.
Good food and service and no complaints.
Columbia's got a great history and good food.
Service is very spotty during busy times.
Mise En Place is a fantastic restaurant with great food and service.
No idea if they do a Turkey Day anything; definitely aren't buffet type.

You might check out Glen Lakes CC in Weeki Wachee, about 20 minutes N on US 19. They have holiday buffets open to the public (reservation). We head out of town for Thanksgiving, so I can't say I've enjoyed one, but the facilities are very nice, and Glen Lakes is a golfing retirement community that your Grandparents might feel comfortable at. glenlakes.com You might do a search for county clubs in the area (Innisbrook CC in Tarpon Springs also does a Thanksgiving buffet).

Thanks for the help. Called Rusty Pelican and they seem to have a pretty well organized event. Not cheap but sounds nice. J

Fresh Harvest, Harvest Fresh, whatever it's called at the Hard Rock Casino is a great above average buffet thru out the year. Thanksgiving, and other holidays are even better.
