Birdman:

If you want to get to Oceanographer I would suggest running to Nantucket, topping off with fuel and heading out from there.

I need to carry a 100 gallon fuel bladder to fish that area comfortably.

I was there Thursday to Friday. Lots of fish. You will do well. PM me for more details if you'd like but there were fish on both the east and west walls of the canyon. You should have no issue finding them.

Nice fish!
Jseas what are you running for a boat?
I have never fished oceanographer. Out of my range. Last time I fished hydro. I ran out of fuel backing into the slip.

Thanks...not a bad idea!! Although, I just came back from visiting MV a few weeks ago, cost me $1000 in fuel, and I didn't fish!! ;)

I am back!

Headed to Oceanographer Tues morning at 530 am. Made it there around noon. A friend suggested that I continue on to Gilbert Canyon since the bite was better and the water cleaner.. So I did...

Bite was solid and steady all afternoon. Yellowfin were plentiful and all over 60 pounds some I would guess were closer to 100 pounds. The White marlin were also there and we ended up hooking four and getting one to the boat for a very nice clean release. Of course lots of Mahi which we did well on as well. Did have a swordfish pick up and run with our bait but did not hook it up!

Trolled over to Ladonia as well and picked up some nice yellowfin there as well.

Weather was very good.. Night was very calm, some rain storms came into Gilbert around 10 or so on Wed morning so we started trolling towards home..

I know my reports are not exciting and me telling about all the fun we had. It was great. All the pictures are on my oldest sons phone.. I will post some pics when I get them.
