Shipyard Isl. Marine Engine Parts - Question on recommended rpm for F250

I am running '09 F250s (3.3L's) with Yamaha SWSII 21 props. I have been playing around with my set-up, props, etc. I finally got some pretty decent conditions to test WOT. I had roughly half fuel and was able to get up to right at 5800 - 5900 rpms and 54mph. I may have had just a little more trim to go, but backed out of it as I was by myself and started to run into a little chop. I know most things I read say the recommended wot is 6 - 6200 rpm. Does it sound like my numbers are ok? It may be possible for me to reach 6000 with less fuel and the slickest of conditions, but don't know for sure. I really like the cruise speed with the 21 props I am running and prefer to keep them over my old 19s.

With the 21's your WOT rpms are perfect. Your prop efficiency is about as good as it gets.
