Ran east up the beach to Holden and bait was so thick you could walk on it. I am not sure I have ever seen pods so big. Pogies were swimming, not flipping and looked like schools of cigar minnows on top of the water. They were in 15-20 feet. We filled the live well with some turbos. Headed to the shark hole and didn't get the spread out before putting the first king in the boat. Nice king close to 25 lbs. Stayed there the rest of the day catching more nice kings but that was the biggest. They hit every color i had and naked too. Had two BiG run offs and both bit through the wire... Havent had that issue in a while. Only had 2 sharks.. Water was 81 degrees and looked dynamite. There were schools of Spanish everywhere tearing up the glass minnows. Saw a big tirger shark that had a couple cobia with her but we couldn't interest them in anything.. That area is alive with bait and fish.
Marked some great bottom while trolling and fought through a lot of undersized sea bass, keeping a handful of keepers.
I had another trip for this morning but it is nasty down here today. Nice to be able to sit still, watch the wind blow and drink some coffee...
