Hi everyone, I want to take some familly members fishing in a few weeks. Can anyone suggest good areas of Long Island sound that are good for trolling for stripers or blues? I will be using bunker spoons and wire line. Thanks

If the boat is in Fairfield, you are in as good a spot as any. Tube and worm or spoons out past Pennfield reef. If you want the bass, you need to go slooooowww. I would wait a little while, the fishing has been awfull lately.

For bass I've had good luck with neon yellow deep diving lures. I pull them along at about 3.5 mph and use divers with big spoons that go down to 25 to 30 ft. Find a open area along a reef somewhere in about 40-50 of water. Umbrella rigs will work well too. I've had good luck just after the tide goes slack and the blues leave the area leaving bass behind.
