Guys what is the best lube for trailer extended tongues? I've been using marine grease but it gets filled with dirt and every few months I have to scrape it off and regrease. I've heard sprays like LPS are better, but I'd like to know what works best.

thanks in advance

Dry moly lube in a spray can.

Have built four extended tongue's, never used lube on them, no problems.

Yes, fresh water and salt water.

Examples of extended tongue's

Agreed with Ray.
My 1996 Pacific trailer with a removable tongue has never seen grease (except in the bearings) with all saltwater use.
Do you have problems inserting / removing the tongue?

Excuse my ignorance. Whats the purpose of the extension?

To get the trailer farther into the water when launching and loading. Also keeping the tow vehicle out of the water.

If you must lube the extended tongue, use Household Paraffin Wax.

Great lube for a million uses, great for un-sticking drawers or any other uses where you don't want to stain your clothes.

Have used it for years in my shop, could not live without it.

Look it up, then buy it from Amazon, one pound (a lifetime supply) costs about $6.00.

For me, it's to be able to park the boat in my garage....

Thanks for the help guys. The grease gathers dirt and turns to clay and then it won't extend. I used engine degreaser and relubed with spray LPS and slides easily now.
