Want to carry the son in law on an old drum outing. Prefer to fish night, any recomendations out there for a good guide?.

Have the fish started showing yet? I know August and into September are the prime months

I sent you a PM with a few great guides that operate out of the Cedar Island area. I fished with the second one on the list two nights ago and we ended up with 12 old drum from 40"-60" and released a tarpon before sunset. We took a chance and ran WAY away from the fleet, but it payed off big time.

Can't help with guides but this is what you are after. Sorry for picture quality. We're going in a few weeks out of Hobucken and I hope to get better pictures this time. This picture is from last year.

The wind was blowing terrible and we didn't have an epic night. I believe we caught 3 like this one and a huge skate.

George Beckwith

My younger brother worked for George doing an Old Drum hook study about 8-10 years ago. George has been tuned into them for a LONG time and knows what he is doing.

Roughly where did you see them? Don't need exact location just trying to determine if they are in the river yet appreciate the heads up

I've never used him, but I've heard good things about Gary Dubiel with Specfever Charters.
