Heading to Perdido Key Forida Friday for a week with the family. Technically, we are staying in Florida but entering gulf through Perdido Pass. I imagine we will have to dock for fuel, ice, bait etc on the Alabama side probalby both to and from the gulf. Do we need a license for both states? If not, which one?

If you plan on fishing in Alabama water I think you need both because you are docking in Florida. Florida won't care where you caught them if you are stopped in Florida waters.
This is what I remember. Let someone else back it up or I'll find out I am not remembering correctly.

This is correct, where are you mooring in Perdido Key? You may want to consider Pensacola Pass and fuel at the naval base (Sherman's Cove, near the pass).

last post here shows the stateline between Ono island and Perdido key
I would fish Alabama and return in Alabama waters, then make a quick cut over to your condo
unload the cooler when the sun goes down....LOL
I've never seen the Florida FWC in old river......

Alabama and Florida are both Possession state. Which means if you possession fish you must have a license for either state.
I dock on Old River.
Now I would not be scared to run the north side of Old River to your dock, just keep a eye out for the man before you turn south to your dock.. I do see FWC in Old River, but not very much at all.

I made 4 trips this week leaving from Needle Rush(Florida)I have a Florida license, made it back through Perdido Pass everytime without even seeing (The Man), Far as I know they were harrassing people on openening of Snapper. Best thing that I do is store all of your poles and put a good looking women in a Bikini on your from ice chest. The man actually passed me up a few years ago and grabbed the guy in front of me Get ready for some wicked current.

Yeah I called. Both states say you need one. For $55 in total coast for an out of state 7 day, its better safe than sorry.

BOTH sides in Alabama waters? We're going down next weekend to Gulf Shores for some Inshore fishing and I was thinking that's the case. I know the Florabama is right on the state line. Just know I can't wait to get down and try some Specks, redfish and whatever else I can catch!!!
