I have been devoting some of my time over the past few weeks in updating my Man Cave/Garage....

Just got the new surround system installed, Yamaha RXV861, Polk RM85 Surrounds, Yamaha sub and JBL louds, next comes the 46" LED TV with Xbox and Play Station 3.

Microwave and a 6 cu. ft. fridge was originally residing there for poker night.....oh yeah its a three car garage with A/C shared with my son's 13' Whaler and my DRZ-400S and my hand tools and work bench for building "stuff"

Trying to think of a few extra things to put in there, main purpose is for my 4 year old to have a place to bail to since our second child is due in January...

I already have some e-sea rider bean bags for the floor and a futon, good news is all of this can be moved if I need to get the good vehicle inside due to a hurricane...

Pix in order

Work bench:

Wall where Yamaha and TV will reside...

race deck floor covering. Nothing wakes a man cave up as much as a great looking floor. Not sure what your car toys or projects are but nice pick on stereo and cabnets instead of having to look at all those boxes on racks. You know I just helped you spend about 8 grand.... LOL You ask.. :) Going to cover the floor in the race trailer with race deck tile. Design it like you want it. Thats what makes it so nice.

You should start with a cabinet that you can lock all your sharp objects and poisons in. Then add a Flat screen I mean you 4 year old isn't going to run out there and pop open a beer and watch your tool collection.

If you plan on letting him turn it into a playroom you might want to consider investing in something like a cheap zmodo camera system so you can keep an eye on him.

Build another tool area about half the height and get some stuff he can work with.....

Or just be there all the time whne he is there, which I am sure you will anyway. But yea, maybe you are trying to do too many things with this space? So far it looks pretty good to me! I need to get a neat professional looking workbench and storage like that - crap, my cars have never been in the garage anyway!

Garage+Fridge+Cold Beer+Music=Paradise!!!! :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

After work I am pretty much always out in my garage. Seems to make the beer colder and taste so good. I really need to flip my garage back in to shape!!!

Consider taking a look at a high quality plasma tv rather than the LED Plasmas have come a long way since they first came out, a lot of the times their picture is ore realistic than LED and LCD tvs, and for the price of a 46" LED you can purchase a much larger, high quality plasma.

Paint the walls and put up stuff on the walls It's a fairly cheap way to make the space look fun.

For some inspiration here is my 2 car garage I've been working on slowly for the past year

I've put in insulation, heat/AC, stereo with surround sound, a storage loft hidden behind the checkerboard, wall paint, 19" TV with DVD, work benches and storage (from SAMs Club), fridge, etc. We use the space as work shop, family hang out, exercise room via treadmill and boat storage. With a little rearrange I can put the golf cart inside also.

Good luck with it and update the thread as you go.
