Wow, very nice looking boat.
Thank you! I really like it a lot. I bought it this past February from the original owner, who happened to be only 40min away...found it on BoatTrader. It's been a freshwater, marina maintained boat all it's life, but did make a few trailer trips to the Keys I hear. I got alllll the original manuals for the boat and it's systems, plus purchase records. It's been well used and shows it a tad in the usual ways, but overall it's very solid and is pretty quick with the twin 200's. It handles our area of the lake a LOT better than my '93 Trophy 20' c/c (shocker, right?), and it seems to get a lot of compliments...just has a classic look. I bought it w/o trailer and had that one made by Nextrail.

Nice pictures, I have a few comments.
Photo # 2 does not show the boat well, but is still quite "cheeky". ;-)
The Robalo has really nice sleek lines.
I love seeing high speed wake pictures. Beautiful.
You obviously take great care of your toys. The tow truck looks as clean and as babied as the boat.

Photo #2 was never intended to be of my boat :)...she was smokin hot but she surrre knew it. I had to get her "stern" in a pic somehow...
The truck is a '97 F350 5spd 460 I bought off ebay a couple of years ago. Bought a 1-way ticket to South Dakota and drove it home. It just broke 26,000 original miles. I like semi-older classic stuff you don't see a lot of; also have a clean Honda 250R for the dirt and a SkiDoo MachZ 1000 incase the snow ever flies up here again!

Nice. I had a 2520 for a few years. Bought it from my brother who owned it for 12 years. It was an absolute beast! Very tough and comfortable and a LOT of fish met their maker on the deck. Wish I still had it...

Thanks! It's my first one with twins and so far has been a great boat. I could pick every little detail about it apart, but it's got a great mix of speed, stability, handling and a good ride. I'm not sure if I'll grow old with it, but I'm very happy with it so far.

Great looking boat, how does it handle in 4' Lake Erie chop? Twin 200's wow I bet that the boat is a screamer. :o:o

Great riding hull, super solid. Those old 200s should push it 50 plus, super clean for the year. We used to sell them, the only down side was the. In floor bait well was always full of water and water came in over the open transom in any kind of seas.

Great looking boat, always liked the lines on the Robalo boats. I boat on Lake Erie also and your Robalo looks like it would be a very wet boat in 3'-4's. The waves on the lake are always so close together they literally beat the hell out of you and your boat.

It definitely does 50+; very few complaints there. I bought it with 21p Mirage props and could get in the early-mid 50's with half tank of fuel, 4 people, and an average load. The bottom is painted; wish it wasn't. I changed to 19p Rev4's to bring the RPM's up a bit, and lost a few mph up top, but the rough water handling and planing is much better.
For not having much of an up-swept bow, it doesn't do too bad. I'll put it this way; I thought it would be worse. It seems to keep the spray down pretty good, until we get into bigger trailing seas. The second time I had it out, I had 6ppl on board and came back from Kellys island in a NE wind and some pretty nasty rollers. The boat handled it great, but the women didn't appreciate the walls of water we encountered. I will never own another boat again that is even borderline under-powered...no way. This boat COULD use more (duh....), but when I pour it on; even with 6-7 people on board, it doesn't argue much.
You are right about boating in Lake Erie; the waves are close together when it gets nasty and can definitely beat your boat up bad if you're not on the wheel and throttles.
I can pull into Portside Marina or the Casino at Kellys Island, and every single time, someone will stop me to compliment the boat...makes a guy feel good, especially if you're familiar with the area and see the crafts that pull in and out of there.

Thanks! The two marina pics were at the Casino and Portside; other side of the island. We go to West Bay a lot too, but when it's busy, it's tough to find a dock.

Your Robalo looks great!
I just picked up a 2520, all I can say is that this is one underrated hull. I have had some damn good riding boats; 20' and 28' Bertrams, 24' Blackfin, 20' Sea Craft but this is one hell of a good boat for the money. Here's the thing- you can't get the boat to pound no matter which direction you point to the wind, or how close together the chop is. Mine has twin 150 Honda 4-strokes added in 2006 and has plenty of power though it sits a little low in the back. Contemplating a fiberglass bracket...

Thanks! Nice boat, yourself! What kind of speed do you see out of the Honda's? Those are nice motors.
You're right...the 2520 seems to do better the harder it's pushed. I put 4-blades on last season; lost a few mph, but it's even more of a beast now. I've been really happy with it so far. My project now is flush mounting my electronics into the t-top box. I took out the freshwater shower (didn't work) in favor of a fire extinguisher mount. What are those two black things on either side of your helm?

I would think a bracket would would shift the weight farther aft, causing the boat to sit even lower at her stern.

A fiberglass bracket like a Hermco would add about 800 lbs of flotation aft.
She runs about 43-45 mph with the Hondas. The black things on either side of the console are to hold fishing gear etc, they velcro around the t-top legs.
