I had a small fire erupted on my boat last weekend, and it made me think… I did some really stupid things, first sign of smoke I left the bridge and went where I felt the smoke was coming from. As time went by it felt like a short time had lapped but it was long enough to do a 180 turn. My 1st mate was there at my side, just as worried as me, but someone should have been at the helm. We were out offshore far enough, not concerned about hitting any land, but fire is my greatest fear offshore. The fire was a connection that had lossen and heated up to the point of smoke. But I found a factory screw up that I’m not happy about. Got to love them cheap bean counters. All turned out ok. But what if!!!
