I am coming out to Ocean City Md. Aug 10th thru 15th with my kids. I would really like to take them out on a boat in the ocean or bay fishing. I would like to know what you guys would recommend. The kids are 6 and 10 so I think a full day trip would be too much unless they were catching a lot of fish. I found a few headboats online but I don't know how crowded they get. I just want them to have a good time and get to catch some fish and see the ocean. Thanks for your suggestions!

Back before I started brining my own boat down to OC we used to run out on half day trips on the Princess.

pretty fast boat and a captain who will do his best to get everyone on the fish.

They were usually looking for Tautog, but I remember filling the cooler with Black Sea Bass.

The mates would ask me if I wanted to switch bait, I told them I was very happy with what I was doing thank you!

At any rate, check them out.

The Judith M is another one you could look in to. They do half day trips (4 hours) from Bahia Marina. http://www.judithmfishing.com/index.html

If you're looking to just fish the bay for flounder and croaker then the Tortuga is a good one.

Look at the Get Sum. He has a great boat that caters to families. He will take you fishing, clamming or anything you want to do. Full and half day. He is always bringing people to clam on the bar behind our place. Catches alot of flounder too!

Visit Talbot Street Pier, where MR. Ducks and the Angler are located. Depending on the children's experience level and attention span. There is a flounder boat there the Happy Hooker, who does a 2 hr bay trip for $25. The Angler headboat is also docked there, but they run from 7:30-2 fishing wrecks for $60. Both good outfits looking to put me people on fish, not just take them for boat rides.

I'd like to go out on a head boat sometime. I very much enjoy the challenge and find running my own boat very rewarding, but it would be nice to go with a few friends, a cooler of beer and let someone else worry about running the boat and finding the fish!

Let us know what boat you pick and give us a report! Have fun

Thanks for the replies everyone. I think we are going to give the Princess a shot.
