Sooooo like a dumb ass I got a Manatee Zone violation ticket on 4th of July night on my way back to the ramp (bad night). Anywho I am trying to pay this citation but there is no record online and the phone system dosent seem to work very well. Does anyone with experience on this subject know of a phone number or web site i can go to pay for this ? Is there a chance the officer didnt turn in his paper work and i get out of it ?;?

If you got it on July 4th you only have a few days left to pay it. It turns into a misdemeanor if you don't pay it within 30 days. At least that's what the officer told me when I earned mine ten days ago. I have been waiting for the 15 days the ticket says to wait before paying online or by phone. Based on your experience, I guess I'll mail it in.

Assuming you got the ticket in Dade county, did you check http://www.miami-dadeclerk.com/ ?

Sometimes it takes a while for the ticket to make it from the officer to the courthouse. If you can't find a record of it with the clerk, try calling the agency that issued the ticket directly.

it is actually a criminal offense so look at the criminal court records.

search by defendant.

Ya its difficult to find since its considered a criminal offense. Had the same problem as you with a manatee zone violation and close to the end of the 30 day window. If yours was done anything like mine it wasnt even entered into the system for like 15 days or so.

Has anyone gone to court on one of these?

If it is like "traffic", you probably want to try for a postponement or two. It increases the chances that the cop may not show up or that he may have forgotten about the bust and can't make his case.

I considered fighting one of these, $175.00, the officers had video, and a friend told me they hardly NEVER lose a case. Unless you video yourself in similar conditions and prove that you were going slow and your boat throws a big wake, and you had a bunch of people on board and that was causing the wake or that the winds were 25 knots and you had to keep speed to avoid getting grounded. At the end I just paid it.
