Hey guys,

I think I have finally decided to bite the bullet and buy a brand new Evinrude-ETECH 130 hp for my 1992 19'5" Blue Finn Spectrum. I wanna get my transom checked out to make sure it is in good shape ( I am pretty sure it is) and I think I will start the process in a week or two.

I just got sick of running all around WNY looking at crappy assed used engines in the 2,000-3,000 dollar price range. Evinrude has a financing special at the end of this summer and I like the idea of having a warranty for 3 years.

I know engine manufacturer questions lead to nothing but arguing, and I have done my research and feel pretty confident about my choice. The only question I have is what your opinions are on the local Evinrude dealer--Brobeil Marine. What kind of experiences have any of you had with them? I know they have been a round a long time, but I don't know how long they have been a Evinrude dealer---the longer the better.

Just lemme know your thoughts if you would fellas.

Matt

I've just gone through a warranty and various service dealers nightmare with a new engine.

My advice is to give Evinrude "Corporate" a call and request a recommendation based on their customer satisfaction survey results of all dealers in your area. IF I had done that in the beginning, I probably woulda saved having my motor back to 3 different warranty dealers before I found a good one - and way too many hours of down time. It's not the sale, but the service after that counts !! (my engine was not Evinrude but a lemon yellow Black)
