I've seen 56 mph before when I was super light. Usually it tops out in the low 50's depending on load
Cruises at around 35 mph at 4200 rpms

Why the 1000 hour difference between the port and starboard engine? What are the fuel economy numbers?

Engine with 1900 hours is an engine he already had from a previous boat I believe. When he repowered he said he found another engine of the same year as the one he originally had. It had lower hours on it. Thus the difference in hours.

Fuel numbers depend on load obviously. Heavily loaded for a fishing trip I average around 1.7mpg cruising at about 35 mph depending on load and sea condition. I've seen 2mpg lightly loaded cruising at around 37 mph

I thought everyone say's you can't hang the weight of four strokes on the back of contenders older than 06? It looks like it sits alright in the water, is it that the transom is not strong enough? Have you had any cracking or signs of problems with the weight? Boat looks great and priced right.

Transom is plenty strong enough and there are no stress cracks or any problems. The four strokes require a little more tab than if it had two strokes

I think they have a lot of life left in them. I know people that have much more hours on their four strokes

The hours are nothing for a four stroke. Hell of a deal........youre bringing down the value of other 27 opens!!!:mad::mad::jk:

Sold it to some guy from mobile. Your boat is definitely the cleanest contender I've ever seen of that age. Definitely up there with a new contender

I think that ******* is trying to work up a deal on my boat with another guy for the 38' Fountain that is in his shop. If he can make it work, then he is going to buy the Contender from me to do a deal on that Fountain.
