My buddy and I are heading down to Morehead next Friday and Sat to get into some Dorado. What have you guys been seeing down that way as far as distance and direction? Mainly running weed lines, debris, etc?

I typically do most of my fishing out of OC, MD so this is alittle change up for me. My thoughts were to troll running about 6 lines (ballyhoo rigged, maybe feathers) with a teaser and dredge.

Any tips, ideas, would be greatly appreciated so we can leave with a full cooler!!

Went out of topsail to the 23 mile rock and was catching them all day 2 weekends ago. (strike every 15-20 min for 4-5 hours) We only kept the biggest four. (30 27 25 22 lbs.) majority of the strikes came from the out riggers and they seemed to like the cigar minnows with pink, light blue, or neon yellow/orange skirts. Let me know if you want more info. Good luck!

There are some good water temp breaks just E/NE of the shoals right now. I would bet there are also some weeds and good life out that way too. If you have access to Bluewater Supermaps do yourself a favor and dig into it over the next few days. It will be well worth your time to learn what the map is telling you to help make your trip a FULL BOX one  ....

I'd have some wire out right now with the Wahoo that are showing back up! I would also have a bucket of thawed chum ready in case you get into the Peanut/Bailer Mahi. Can catch a quick limit if prepared!

If the weather is looking really good...and I mean REALLY GOOD (Going to have the family with me..) I will be heading out of Morehead myself next Thursday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday!
