So i got a shimano trevala 6,6 30-80 and didnt realize it was 2 piece when i got it. When i got home i then realized it was 2 piece. Is the 2 piece good? or should i exchange it for the 1 piece? Any disadvantages of having 2 piece? i will be catching fish up to 50 pounds on it. Thanks.

2 peice is fine. I actually use my Lamiglas 2 piece when I travel as it is much easier. I can't say I notice a performance difference.

I love my two piece trevala. Have caught Marlin, sails, Amberjack, Tuna, Snapper on them and they are flawless. The only ting i didn't like is the guides rust, so you have to keep them oiled, but the stick is great!

I always buy 2 piece -- travel is a lot easier and no performance difference I've noticed

They just pull apart. It takes a little effort, but not too much. It's stuck together enough that you won't have to worry about it coming apart with a fish on. It's funny, I have a two piece because they were easier to bring down here, but I forgot it was a two piece until I read this post...Awesome rods, my favorite that I have on the boat.
