Eastern Coalfields Limited official Niladri Roy said workers at the mines, one of which is 700 meters (3,000 feet) deep, were not in danger and were being taken out."
Gee, same as coal mining here in the US, where a human life is worth less than the cost of a back-up power generator.

That's what happens when you close coal plants.
If you travel to those countries it is not unexpected. Our accountant just returned from his vacation in India with his family. We both laughed about how big of a deal that is being made.
