this is a 2150wa hydra-sports , i'm asking what many have asked i'm sure but i'm looking to flush mount a Garmin 740s a gx1150 vhf and am/fm radio and i would love a flip up dash to get to my wires and have dry storage
acrylic or starboard would work ,... i know the wires are everywhere in there now im in the process of removing the Garmin that's in there. also i think a tilt of the garmin will be necessary as it is i have to look down to see in the console and i hate that .. and is why you see the black mount in the left corner next to the cuddy door that is the other gps i was using to avoid looking down under the console .

1/2 inch starboard is easy to work with. make a plywood template, and paste/tape full size images of your components to the plywood and play with the layout. Save some space for some switches. Think about what you might add in the future and make allowances for them.

My wife mentioned she has a laser cutter and xtra 3/8 black acrylic sheets .. ill get them to re-cut the gauge section on to. And cut the 740s template on it.
Below that ill have them cut a piece for the 5 gauges
And shorten the smoked lexan lid so I still have the amfm and vhf in the cover.

Black acrylic would look nice, but be careful drilling as it is very brittle. 3/8 is a little thin, but probably sufficient if properly supported.

how about getting the outside of an ebox made to fit the console out of 3/8
and just use black starboard on the inside as a removable panel to flush mount the 740s and vhf i can then leave the radio in the slant side on the left of my console . i think i saw this and loved it i would need to angle it back a hair tho 257015
257016 i would have the hinges off and just be able to put the lid on when needed more for storage or parking and be able to remove the panel to work on or security if needed at home its not .

Thats my set up. It's been great. The box is from Powers Marine. If he can make something that fits, you'll be happy with it. His stuff is classy.
As for the lay out, it's been awesome for striper fishing. The 525 is usually a chart zoomed in to track and repeat drifts. The hds10 for a bottom machine. Switch pages to a chart for long runs or when fishing foreign waters. Nice clean install, couldn't be happier.
