Looking for a decent pair of polarized sunglasses for my 9y/o.

Want to keep it to less than $50.

Try the Calcutta line. Decent non wavy lenses and my 13 year old hasn't broken them yet (he's been using them for 3 years). If I could only get him to wipe them off now and then! They are around 20 to 25 bucks and available at west or most any decent tackle store. I use their amber green mirror for nearshore because they really highlight color changes and water depth and clarity. And for 25 bucks if I break them I just go and get some more.

Or the Sea Strikers. Very similar in function and cost. Just a thought.

Either of the two above recommendations is the way I'd go too. Just make sure they offer good UV protection.

Try the Berkley glasses found in the Walmart fishing dept. They come in small sizes and are pretty good. I have three boys at 10-12-14 that swear by them.

I just bought a pair of Action Optics top quality polarized lenses for any kid that's on my skiff. There's an outfit right now that's clearing out a few pairs on E-Bay at $29 with N/C on shipping. In the description you're looking for "small frame" sizing. I normally get at least four years hard use out of any pair of Action Optics (Smith Optics) sunglasses.... The model I purchased was the "Wasabi". I'd compare them to Costas any day.

the calcuttas are pretty good. I have two boys under 10, and they like them. they fit good, and they're pretty good quality for the price... right around $20
