Gulf Coast - Fishing tomorrow!

Finally taking a day off work and taking the boat out tomorrow. One hour until I get off and can't contain myself.

Going to be HOT with maybe isolated thunderstorm. Wind not great but doable. Hope to make it out to Horn Island (east end) to break in my new Diawa Saltist 6500.

This will surely be the slowest hour EVER.

Try the channel between sand and Petit bois. I caught this a few weeks ago and the conditions are pretty much the same as Friday's. Caught it on a Yo Zuri 3d crystal minnow magnum. This one was about 40, we lost one that was app. 20. They were working schools of mullet in the deeper water in the channel.

just to clear the air, we call tripletail (Lobotes surinamensis), blackfish around the northern gulf coast. They are listed at the alabama and MS rodeos as blackfish, because they, in-fact, appear to resemble the color not the race.
