got a few budies in town this week and want to put them on some fish. what should the weapon of choice be?
headed out early on thurs morn was going to check the ledges just past boston light for macks. or should I be thinking more along the lines of tube and worm on the shoals? headed out around 5am and want to make the most of first light. thnx.
If they are patient enough to work for that one big keeper, head out for mackeral and come back to the islands to live-line. Mackeral and big keepers are still around.
If they want to work blitzes and catch a few shorties and hope for a keeper, forget the bait and just hang around the entrance of the inner harbor to Spectacle to Deer during sunrise. Bring binoculars and keep a guy on it. The blitzes last weekend were small and died out rather quickly but if you have a quick boat, you'll definitely get some quality casts.

Live eels around any deer island structure any tide will produce. I always catch fish on eels around Deer island

you could also chunk a flat of herring on the humps out in front of the harbor, deer island rips or the fawn bar....

I thought this was a post about how to deal with fishing traffic in the harbor? My bad. Agree with other posters I guess.
