I live in North Florida and just bleached and power washed my wood fence. The fence is made out of pine. Can anyone recommend a sealant that will last two or three years or more?

When you say "pine" do you mean pressure treated yellow pine? If yes, spraying it with a bug sprayer is easiest. That means you will go with a clear wood sealer. In the past I would have recommended Benjamin Moore, but some thread here recently indicated the company has taken a slide and since I haven't used it in a while I'm not sure. I will tell you what NOT to buy: thompsons!

It's not even legal in all 50 states, it must be good,,,,

Why go to the trouble to do anything that will not look as good within months? I know it looks good now, but north FLA has pine and oak trees, and their muck and pollen will cause wood to turn gray. How about a gray stain and get a jump on the patina???

i'm a dock builder in southern sc and we use seal o deck by sealoflex.
they make commercial roof and deck sealants .
it will last about 2-3 years on a wood dock that gets regular use.
should last even longer on a fence.
apply with a sprayer or roller and water clean up.

If you apply two coats of sealoflex, how long do you wait between coats? Do you let the first coat dry completely?

First, be careful pressure washing wood. If its too strong, it penetrates the wood too much. It's a lot more work, but light sanding is better.
I've found Sikkens to work the best. It ain't cheap.

Ready Seal
the only one that will last 7-8 yrs
sikkens
trust me.....this is the ticket
it is not clear, but is translucent and available in several wood tone colors
the tint is the what gives it the UV protection
on a fence, spray it on with a pump up sprayer and roll it out with a roller
I did a fence in 2005 and it still lokks good
the tint actually makes the fence look a little better IMO
clear water sealers will not hold up

Sikken had different formulas(VOC)for different states. It can be a nightmare to clean and strip once it begins to fail.
I have seen it used on dozens of log homes in Colorado at high altitude, and I used it on a rough sawn cypress B&B home in NW Florida, 2 coats in 2005 with a brush and it still looks great
I would not spray it on, except with a garden sprayer and then roll it in and roll it real good.
couldn't imagine stripping rough cut wood ????

Cabot makes nice stuff too. Comparable to Sikkens. Just had out decks done with Cabot semi-transparent wood-tone and it really looks nice. Oil-based and they brushed it all on.

I went with Cabot, the cost of Sikkens was to much for a pressure treated wood fence.

Olympic or Cabots. Use the transparent stuff. They will last 5 years easily.

Just did my fence. 5 acres with a pine fence on all 4 sides. I used a powerwasher to clean the fence and posts. Then spoke to a local dock builder on what HE recommended. I went with the Home Depot Bear "Deck Stain" in a solid black color. Went on very easy and looks great after 1 year.
