I actually got paid to drive this 42Fountain today. It's not what I do for a living, I just work at the marina. This puppy was built for special duty. I can tell you that this boat will certainly fit the bill. It carries a crew of three and twelve shooters. If you see a Startron bottle, I can tell you that they were having slight issues. Four ounces in each of the new water separators and no more issues. I can tell you that the throttles were right to wall on this ride.

Running video is at the bottom of the link below.

I have seen this boat for several weeks now and I have been wondering what it was built for... Thanks for sharing!

too cool, I checked out their website and noticed they named their gunrange after a fallen friend of mine, Doug Zembiec, he was an awesome guy, a true hero, I wish them good luck in their venture.

54gph @ cruise, 90 gph @ 88+mph with the 525 Mercs. I had it up to 87 and it still needs some tweaking.

Gotta love this job. I get to burns other people's fuel and get paid. I've run Nortechs and Midnight Express too.

As an American, I am glad to see that the men and women who serve to keep our country safe have access to equipment and training such as this.

Nice post.

If this is a regular Fountain hull, meaning it is fiberglass, wouldn't a bullet easily penetrate it?

It's not your standard hull. It is reinforced and can be hoisted by a helo or transported by C130. To answer your question, yes it can be penetrated, but so can the inflatables that the teams use. Speed and surprise are used to an advantage.

Did this boat just recently get re rigged or refreshed at Fountains new place in Washington NC? I saw a grey one very similar if not the same one out front a few months ago.

From my conversations with the crew, it probably was this one.

You had to go bring up the past. I remember telling my buddy George, "Get me out of here, she's starting to look good.". Two more and I might have propsed. :o
