Unfortunately I didn't take a picture - but my entire bracket for my outboard was covered in egg-like soft, very round organisms (or eggs?). What is growing around the Cape this time of year that attaches to boats? I've never seen it before. I guess I'll paint my bracket next year...

Try frying them in garlic and butter, and let us know how they are!!

You in Pleasant bay? Could be anything since the water temp is about 80 deg right now!

Yeah they are bizarre. Perfectly round, jellyfish consistency, slightly alien looking pods. Some are orange. Most are clear. Looks like an organism inside. Size of a golf ball

Maybe the beginning stages of barnacles?
Power wash as quickly as possible.

Last year I saw a boat that was left in the water for a month without paint that had what you describe. I'd definately scrub them off and maybe send a picture to Pops. He'll probably tell you that they taste great for breakfast or something.

I've seen what you are talking about, not on a boat but in the water. At least a sq mile of them they were in all stages of development.
At the time best guess was krill

Most likely barnacle larvae. Get them off!

I've seen them... Orange ones actually...
Not very attractive... I wish someone could confirm what the hell they are??
How large were they? I recall them being rather large... 1/2 the size of a golf ball, right??

Looks like it would be pretty easy to remove. Beats the barnacles growing all over my bracket and transducer--I need to get down there with a spackle knife ASAP.

Jellaforsathissithis, very common marine life. Related to the Jellaforsamissasis, which is deadly if touched. Don't confuse them.
