Holy crap!!! We are on vacation up in Newfoundland right now...and had a pod of three of them "stalking" us...just wondered if they ever did jump into a boat!

I've never seen one jump near a boat before, but judging by how far it came out of the water my guess is it's a young whale (small). "Childs play" maybe?

Fishing on Stellwagon Bank off the coast of Massachusetts can get your heart pumping when one comes up next to you and lifts that great flipper up and eyes the boat then drops it and soaks everybody on that side of the boat. Theres one that does it to the whale watcher boats regularly.
They also come up and scratch their backs on your hull if your stoped. Thats like a roller coaster ride.
