This was happening before Golden got there and there is no proof that he had knowledge of it. You notice the person is no longer at UM as is the other "staffer" quoted and Aubrey Hill as well.
Golden just got rid of one of his top defensive players for questionable behavior with a person who is involved with a sports agent so I think Golden is doing what he feels nessasary to make sure the program is doing the right thing. Making phone calls to recruits is a minor thing and if you don't think every top program is having someone do it you are in fantasy land.

The past is the past and has nothing to do with the program today. You did not say sanctions, you said allegations which is what Miami has right now and they are very similar to the allegations Saban has had before. By the way why would anyone take the word of a Shapiro associate anyway, especially one that is no longer associatiated with the program.
At this point eveyr player and coach that was associated with the Shapiro incident are gone and that is 100% Al Golden's doing. Does anyone really think that Golden would knowingly allow any of the allegations to take place knowing they were under investigation already? Hardly!!!
He cannot control the actions of individuals he has no knowledge of and if this person was so important to the program he would still be there. He's not and that should tell you something.

If it was about Notre Dame or Texas cheating I still would have posted.
Look back at the postings from the beginning, not once did I say anything about Alabama until it was brought up. If my username wasn't what it is you would have no idea if I was a Bama, FSU, Florida or whatever fan.
Regarding your comments "Bama is the best thing to ever happen to you" .. no its not, but my parents are Bama grads, I lived in Tuscaloosa as a baby and I'm a Bama grad, so I think that made me a fan.. no?
Never brought up negative things about the city of Miami or the people so I don't know where you're coming with this.
You'll give me some shots Bro? OK True or False?
1) SEC football is not currently head and shoulders over any other conference?
2) Nick Saban is not a good coach? Except for Coach Schnellenberger & Jimmy Johnson has Miami had a legendary football coach?
3) Alabama is the national champion 2 out of the last 3 seasons, 14 championships total. Thats pretty good.
4) National Championships, overall wins, bowl wins, etc... how do you compare one team against another? Bama is not ahead here?

Been playing football since 1892 and this was Bama at close to its worse.
You realize that Alabama has the same number of national championships in the 1920's to the 1940's as Miami has total?
They've been a top program over the years - year after year, not just since the 80's. Miami had 2 runs where they were among the best. Maybe they'll get back to the top, maybe not.

It will take a couple more recruiting classes. Even if they lose some scholarships it can be done. Butch davis did it while under probation and put together what was probably the best college football team ever when you look at all the number 1 draft picks that came from that team.
Larry Coker and Randy Shannon set this program back 5-10 years. It is good to see fans of teams that got their asses kicked by UM and other haters of the program comment. they will be back in time. Golden is going back to the roots of the program and recruiting heavily at home.
Deon Bush, Tracy Howard, and Duke Johnson, who were all top recruits at their positions, would probably not be here under the Randy Shannon regime because he did not recruit their schools. My son played for 2 years with Deon Bush at Columbus High School and I can tell you Golden was at their school more in the first 3 months he was in the job than Shannon was his whole head coaching tenure.

No, I don't. That was back in the stone ages recruiting wise. By the 80's and 90's recruting had progressed with the technical aspects as well as specialized recruiting personnel. From 1984 - 1994 Miami went 115-18 with 3 National Championships. One other thing to remember is that UM is a small private school with limited financial resources unlike Alabama and other large state schools. That is a huge advantage.

You got an answer for everything bro!
The bottom line is Bama has traditionally been a top tier program from the 20's on.
Regardless of the fact that you don't consider this or that, they've won consistently when they played and thats all you can do.
OVERALL the Alabama program compared to Miami is no comparison, read.. overall. Not the fact that Miami had X number of players drafted in one year or between 1985 and 1989 1/2 they did this and that, overall.
The "U" should schedule up some SEC opponents to gauge where they are. Again look forward to 6-7 wins again this year.

Amazing how many people still love to hate Miami. Boise St. had a list of violations similar to what Miami has been accused of, it was in the news for all of about 15 minutes. Boise has been 20X more relevant to college football than Miami over the past decade. Miami is a non-factor in college football now, has been for several years and will be for several more. Why bother with them?

Who cares??? That is ancient history and up until 4-5 years ago Alabama was insignificant for quite a while. Like i said it will take another 2-3 recruiting classes for UM to get back. Players for the most part like to go to winning programs or stay close to home.
South Florida is continually the most talented area in the country so all Miami has to do is get a few of the top kids to stay home like they did this year and UM will rebuild in 2-3 years. Lets face it if both have winning programs most kids are going to want to come to Miami over Alabama just because of the area.

Or his LOSER career record when he had to coach MEN he could not intimidate in the NFL??? Saban is a POS that will be worshiped by the fools in Alabama just like people worshipped Paterno.
People in little podunk towns like Tuscaloosa or State College have to have SOMETHING to worship and build statues of whereas people in Miami have had a coach like Jimmy Johnson who won a National Championship at UM and then went on to win a couple of Super Bowls at the HIGHEST level of the game.
Guess what JJ has no statue down here and does not want or need one because he does not have the EGO of little Satan!!!
:thumbsup: I still remember that deer in the headlights look when the local media was interviewing little nicky. Wasn't he the braintrust that selected the worn out, bad kneed quarterback (forgot his name) in free agency, instead of Drew Brees? :banghead:

Glad you brought it to this point.. making fun of cities and their people, although you forgot Saban's home state of W. Virginia (alot of jokes there right?). :nono:
Just keep wishing the "U" won't be in trouble anytime soon and their sub .500 record joke of a coach can get over 6 wins this year and maybe they can win their crappy conference in 4 to 5 years and so on and so on...
It will take a couple more years but they will be back. They got two more committments from highly ranked local recruits in the last week and Golden now has new players from some of the top programs in South Florida to help in recruiting.

Yeah, he was a genius. He was also the one that required the practice bubble to be built. What a great idea to take players out of the heat and humidity which they would get acclimated to and would become a huge home field advantage early in the season and put them in an air conditioned practice bubble.
