I'm going to be stuck at a meeting in Chestertown, MD next week. I've never traveled that area before. I'll be taking the Mrs and wondered if there were any areas or sites in the general area worth visiting? Any great seafood restaurant recommendations? Will be driving up from North Carolina.

Take a ride over to Annapolis (about 45 minutes) and walk around downtown. A lot of great restaurants/bars, or take a ride to St. Michaels which is a little further south on the Eastern Shore, also a lot of great restaurants downtown.

Some of the best restaurants on the shore are in Easton. Plenty to do I hope the weather is nice. It's not called " The land of Pleasant Living" for nothing.
Enjoy!

x2 if you want the best crabs in the area.

There are some nice places in kent narrows but it has been a few years and I can't remember the names. There was a thread on here last year about kent narrows so maybe you can find it that way. Annapolis is nice, but it might be a long drive if your in meetings all day.

You want to know about Chestertown, most of these areas are 45 mins to an hour away. I live in Chestertown and think there is plenty to do in this area. Pm me if you want with what you are looking for, what days you will be here, etc. I promise you will both have a good time without having to drive more than a half hour roundtrip.

Hey folks! Thanks for all the suggestions. We will see how many of those we can take in except the bikini contests. The wife gets pissed when I pay too much attention to anyone but her;?.

Shoreboy, sent you a PM.

Hal,
Didn't see this till now although I couldn't help with that area. Did you go up 95 and over or up the Eastern Shore on 13?

According to the website they are looking for new operator/ tenants. I would think when they reopen the quality could change for better or worse depending on who is in charge.

Whresjoe and Bill DC - We're headed to Waterman's Crab House tonight. Sounds like a great place!

Starmonk - wife and I had lunch at Lemon Leaf today AWESOME crab cakes! I'd say best we've ever had.

thubert57 - haven't talked to you in quite a while! We went further up 95. Forgot name or number of the road but we went past Fort AP Hill and what I think was a powerplant and skirted around Baltimore then across Kent Island and spent first night in St Michaels. How's that Alby running? There are times I wish I never sold mine (like when gas prices are high).

It has been a while, I left Fay over 5 years ago. The Albe is running well .. now, it was down for a while last year. It is a great lower Chesapeake Bay boat, I fish year round. Offshore is a little long from here though. She is a sipper.
If you have time you might want to come down 13 and cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel going home. Lumberton is 3 1/2 - 4 hour ride from here. The eastern shore is a very scenic ride.
Have fun!

Yep, never cared much for the deviled crab. Way to much filler.
