What are the pros and cons of both? I have a 2002 EZloader roller and things are starting to wear out. I'd like to get a new trailer but I don't know which way to go. The trailer now suits my needs, but I have to leave the boat in power while hooking the winch (most of the time by myself). People tend to get pretty pissy when they're behind me, but not much of a choice. Also the surge brake system on this trailer sucks. I can't tell you how many times I've work on the brakes. I can get a 6000lb capacity trailer for $3500 but need some help making the choice. Thanks

Get an aluminum float on (bunks).
I had an EZ Loader trailer once. The steel frame rusted from the inside (I couldn't see it), and nearly dropped my boat in the road when I hit a pothole. I got an aluminum trailer, and never looked back.

Aluminum bunk with Kodiak disk brakes and SS hardware and be done with it. The electric of hydro option is a good one if you can afford it AND if you tow a lot.

I have a roller trailer and wish I had bunks. First of all its harder to launch your boat. with a bunk you can get boat to launch unhook the chains and back the trailer in to remove boat without getting wet. When you take boat out of water it can be hard to line up bottom of boat with rollers on the chines.I want to convert but when boat is in water for weekend i dont want to be working on trailer.

Bunks and the electric over Hydraulic brakes are the only way to go. Once you try them you will never go back.

I've had the same issue with my roller trailer and feel the same ay as you..don't really want to be working on a trailer when the boat's in the water.

I have rollers and the advantage in MHO is that I don't have to sink the trailer to launch the boat as it will just roll of the trailer.
I use a product called fishoilene to spray up the insides of the trailer rails once or twice a season to stop rust.
Wash the trailer down with fresh water after every launch in salt water

I looked at a Road King 7k lb aluminum trailer today. It was $3395, it's been on their lot for over two years now. What do ya think?

I prefer bunk for loading, unloading, and maintenance. The other issue is personal opinion. When towing over long distances all the road vibrations are transmitted into the hull through the rollers or the bunks. I feel the location of the bunks and larger contact patch have less potential for damage.
