Fished 6 trips last week and 3 of them were full day trips. We spent those 3 around the 23 mile ledges. Thursday had a good trip with 5 Mahi, turned 2 Sailfish loose and some cudas and bonitas. The best fishing was on the offshore side of the 23 mile ledges (the 180's). The water was cleaner and more bait. Saturday was a wash with the dirty water having moved back in. I worked all the way to the outside ledges (in the 170's) and still dirty water. Ended the day with 3 small Mahi and a bunch of bottom fish. Sunday the SE wind had finally pushed the clean water in, but I was 30 miles off the beach before I really found it. Caught 7 Mahi, missed a sail and had some AJ's and cudas.

Thursdays Trip. My mate Andrew had to take the day off, so I took our "supermate" Jack. My 12 year old son, who has helped out on charters for the last two years. Be glad when he is 15 and I won't have a mate that is ever late again.

Good for you with Jack! That is a lot of fun.. Great report as well..

My son Dylan is going to Campbell University in August and I am gonna miss him being on the boat. He can almost read my mind at times.. My 8 year old begs me all the time to mate... will be a little longer than he is willing to wait for sure.

I fished the shark hole Sun on a 3/4 and we were so weeded up it was horrible. After a few hours clearing lines with only one small king, we hit the bottom and got a limit of sea bass.. weed were terrible there..
