Florida & Georgia - Savannah to Beaufort, SC

Has anyone ever taken the river from Thunderbolt to Beaufort, SC? If so how long does it take? Thanks.

I'm ASSUMING you mean by the ICW, not "the river". Yes we've done many trips like you describe. Allow about 50 mins to 1 hour from Thunderbolt to Hilton Head around the Skull Creek marina area. Then from there across Port Royal Sound then up the Beaufort River to Beaufort about another 50 mins to 1 hour. There is a pretty long no-wake zone that runs from Port Royal Landing Marina at the bridge on the Beaufort River all the way to Beaufort. There are a few first come first served free day-use ty-ups at the city marina and also slips for a fee available at the commercial marina right next door, My time estimates are based on about a 25mph cruise outside of the no-wake zones.

It's a very nice ride, make sure you have an up to date GPS with mapping, it's easy to run aground. Nice places to walk around in downtown Beaufort, been there hundreds of times.
