Hello
I have a Lowrance EP-20 installed to a Suzuki DF90 -05. My problem is this, when I start the engine EP-20 dissapears from the network. I know it's caused by dropping voltage. Does anybody know is the EP-20 getting it's power from the N2K network or from the engine?
At the moment my N2K network is under mainswitch so it's powered up when I start the engine. Does it help if I put own power switch for N2K network and power it up after I have started the engine or do I need to change larger wires to the motor?

The N2K network powers the devices connected to it. Try putting the N2K network power on it's own supply off the battery. Easy to do, that will answer your question.

You should power-up your electronics including N2K when the engine is running.
I've been faced to the same problem and choosed this method until i've installed a second battery for my electronics.
This batterie is charged with Cirix-Relays, no voltage drop caused by split diodes.

Ok, thank you. I will put a power switch to N2K network and power it up after I have started engine.

Only electronics that I power up before I start the engine is N2K network and there is only gps antenna and this EP-20.

Problem solved by putting a power switch to N2K network and powering it up after I have started the engine.
