Deciding whether to fish there or Hatteras this weekend and not happy with what I saw at Hatteras today. Really want a report from an individual versus the Fishing Center.
How tough to run into the YFT now? Still at Tuna Hole, Point?
Any big eyes, wahoo, sails, marlin? Many gaffer Mahi?
Have Makos started up yet?

We fished 6 miles north of point 4th of july week. YF were busting the water, we got 2 in the boat. They dissappeared the following day but we snagged a 43 lb wahoo on a blue/white seawitch w ballyhoo on a planer rod. It seems the YF were moving on and the mahi may be moving in, their was lots of radio chatter from around hatteras about dolphin.

Weather was beautiful, no seas, a few thunderstorms. Most boats went North, we went south. Fishing was TOUGH. Almost no sea life, a turtle, couple of sharks, no grass at all, little bait showing on chart or up top.
Pulled out two tuna in the MIDDLE OF THE DAY IN BRIGHT SUNLIGHT! Also two sails late in the day. Had almost forgotten how nice a day could be on the water though
