my 2500 duramax has 50000 miles on it and the check engine light comes on along with "clean exhaust filter" the truck runs fine as long as nothing is hooked up to it. when hooked up to the boat the truck says reduced engine power and its not joking, absolutely no power. The chevrolet place has worked on it twice and hasnt fixed anything(big surprise). anybody else have this issue, i would like to use my truck to pull my boat without fear of being left beside the road. And no i dont want to buy a ford or dodge.

What code does it show. Possible a manual regen is needed. Email me the info GM has given you and I will see what I can find for you.

Sounds like the diesel particulate filter is plugging up. It needs to do a forced regen by the dealer using the diagnostic software or the dpf needs to be replaced. If you look on the duramax forums, you could pick up a dpf pretty cheap from someone who has removed it from their truck.

Sounds like its time for a DPF delete and an economy tune.

Hey not sure you could be right but I think mine did it like 4 times...I may have left it idle too much so I cut that off..Had my crew get out in the sun....lol
