MSSA helped coordinate a day on the water for the Annapolis City Police Fishing camp. A GREAT day was provided by the volunteers who offered their boats and fishing talents to serve those who serve us and at-risk kids out of Annapolis.

I want to congratulate and thank everyone who helped make this day a success. Every captain did a great job providing an enjoyable experience on the bay for their passengers. Every boat caught lots of fish including rockfish, spot, croaker, and white perch. I believe even a state citation was landed in the mix. (my boat came in with a 6 man limit of rockfish to 26" with an over 30" lost at the boat by the Executive dir of the MSSA:trout:..) Thanks to AllTackle.com for donating bait.

Another camp event will take place in August should you wish to participate in these events!

Buckshot, beautiful boat by the way! The kids were boasting about the amenities and being able to fish in luxury.

Great event, Greg. Count me in for August, if you need me. I'll try to keep work free.

Thanks for being there Mark and providing those kids with a fantastic day on the water! You had the "coolest" boat in the eyes of many of the kids! Certainly the fastest!

Here is a shot of your Scarab, me and Mark L in his Judge (with a charter in the background) that Skip took on the HOT live line bite!

2013 Dates have been announced and the Broadneck MSSA Chapter is looking for volunteers..

The first date boats are needed is Tuesday July 9th, with a rain date of Thursday July 11th. The second date is Tuesday Aug 13th, with a rain date of the 15th.

We typically leave the dock at Sandy Point State Park by 8am and return around noon. You need not be an excellent fisherman as the kids are excited to be on the boats and catch bottom fish, such as perch and spot. Boats that find some rockfish also are typically willing to help the other boats find the fish too. It is recommended that boats be 23' or over, able to fish one officer and 3 children, and have all safety gear necessary for the crew. Bait will be provided.

For more information on the event, please see this article printed in the Baltimore Sun on last years event: http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/mar...0,706764.story (http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/maryland/anne-arundel/bs-md-ar-cops-and-kids-fish-camp-20120712,0,706764.story)

If you are able to volunteer your boat and time to help this program, whether it is on the initial date or even the rain date if it is needed, please email me at [email protected] I understand that these dates are during the week making it difficult for some to attend. However if you have a flexible schedule and are able to help, your volunteerism is appreciated.
