after many attempts to cure--- ready to give up--- ran axu tank---replace plugs cap ete---replace presure regulator filter---- pump replace 2 years ago did pressure tes high 52 low 10 engine run great then drop rpms from 30000 to 1200 then picks back up and runs okey--- this can and does happen at ANY time ready to purchase soft ware no dealers around here Erie PA that will work on FI do you sell the VP software

Volvo does not sell the software for their engines. You can get aftermarket I believe that works.

I don't get your PSI numbers. Does it hold 50psi or not?

thanks for reply Fuel pressure 52 lbs on high side 10 lbs on low side pump is only 2 years old No whinning/squilling sound like when it when bad---- I have found soft ware made by Diacom sell both scan tool or PC soft ware ad say fit Merc and VP costly but so is boating and fishing

sounds like you have a DTC being set and is putting engine into limp mode then whatever is causing the DTC to be set cures itself and so the cycle begins again. (intermittent DTC)

This would be caused by a bad sensor..i would do a check of the basic sensors first..cooling and oil sensors

you could buy cheap scan tool (25$) and see if any DTC are set this may give you a clue as to what is happening..but a scan tool would be best especially for intermittent problem.

have u purchased a scan tool--- I found one bu Rinda @ $ 400.00 Diacom Marine has software @$600.00 plus adaptors ---- some have told me Mercrusier will work-- this old dog is learning some new tricks---however costs lots of $$$ for tools
