I have a 1995 Sweetwatrer Pontoon that I purchased and was told that there were problems with the wiring from the throttle which resulted in the tilt swich not working. I notice that the switch a the cowl is not working as well. I was told the motor and the relays were good. I am going to assume that if the cowl switch issue can beresolved then I can trace the other problem. Any ideas on what could be going on here? The previous owner was told by a mechanic that this was a $500 fix. I dont buy it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance

It would help to know the make and year of the motor.

Sorry nelected to list that it is also a 1995 and it is a Mercury. Not sure of the particular model though.

If neither switch works, start by checking the fuse at the starter solenoid. It has a red wire and a red with purple wire. Here's the wiring diagram for that engine. Good Luck.
