I'm a noob at this, but I bought a Silverado 2500 HD that already had a Prodigy brake controller installed. I picked up my new (used) boat this past Friday and I cannot get the brake controller to register that the trailer with breaks is connected. Is there something I'm missing? Below are some photos of the setup I've got.

cause your trailer is a surge brake not electric. so it will not register with your controller on your truck

That is surge brakes, the extra wire is for the brake lock out so when you put it in reverse the little solenoid will not allow brake fluid to flow and the brakes will not apply which will allow you to back up. without that the brakes will lock up in reverse if they are working proper
